Cerebrospinal fluid metabolomics and lipidomics in autistic regression

Within the landscape of neurodevelopmental disorders, autistic regression affects about 30% of children, however, the outcomes are detrimental, often leading to long-term neurodisability. Metabolomics has emerged as a promising tool in autism spectrum disorders to explore the pathophysiological mechanisms and reflect the interactions between genetic and environmental influences. Given the heterogeneity and neurologic manifestations of autistic regression, this represents an important area of research. This study presents an investigation of the CSF metabolomic profile in autistic regression.
