This study evaluated the residual characteristics of four insecticides to promote safer pesticide usage, establish maximum residue limits (MRLs), and provide analytical methods for pesticide residue quantification. The residues of emamectin benzoate, etofenprox, deltamethrin, flonicamid, and their metabolites in Cirsium japonicum var. spinosissimum were quantified using GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS. Samples were collected at 0, 3, 7, and 14 days after two treatments, and extraction and purification were performed using the QuEChERS method (EN15662). In mass spectrometry, characteristic fragmentation patterns of target compounds were identified and utilized for quantitative analysis. The recoveries ranged from 70% to 120% at concentrations of 0.01, 0.1, and 10 mg/kg for all pesticides. The relative standard deviations (RSD) were below 20%, and the correlation coefficient (r2) exceeded 0.99. The method limit of quantification (MLOQ) was 0.01 mg/kg. Residue levels for emamectin benzoate, etofenprox, deltamethrin, and flonicamid ranged from 0.29 to 0.34 mg/kg, 0.99 to 8.07 mg/kg, 0.03 to 0.71 mg/kg, and 0.57 to 6.48 mg/kg, respectively. Additionally, the dissipation rate constants and half-lives of the insecticides in Cirsium japonicum var. spinosissimum were determined, with half-lives of 3.66, 5.04, 3.48, and 4.38 days, respectively.
