We investigated the use of MS imaging (MSI) to clarify the localization of secondary metabolites and in plant organs and their behavior over time. Conventional MSI requires advanced techniques and long time for preparation of sample sections, while recently developed transfer plates that do not require sectioning can be applied for MSI on the same day that plant samples are obtained. We report here the visualization of the distribution and temporal changes of components of interest in mini tomatoes using this new material.
