The 80th Workshop on Fundamentals, Ionization and Ion Chemistry in Mass Spectrometry (On-line)

"Measurement of Charged Nanodroplets Produced by Electrospray Ionization"
Prof. Toshiki Sugai (Toho University)

Electrospray ionization has been one of the most important ionization techniques for mass spectrometry. Highly charged nanodroplets have been thought to play crucial roles in the ionization processes. However, they have not been frequently measured due to unstable structures and range of size. For mass spectrometry, for example, the droplets are unstable in vacuum and their m/z is too large. In this talk, the measurement of the particles by newly developed ion mobility with charge detector are going to be presented with relevant to the ionization processes.
