Introduction of trace elements and biopolymer imaging methods in biological samples by Laser ablation-ICP-MS
Imaging analysis in biological samples by LA-ICP-MS has traditionally been limited to localization information of endogenous or intentionally added elements. We report that we were able to indirectly obtain information on biopolymers by subjecting biopolymers to an antigen-antibody reaction and labeling and detecting metal elements on the antibodies. This suggests that LA-ICP-MS can acquire information on the existence of elements and biopolymers.
