In general, nano electrospray ionization (nESI) is produced by applying DC high voltages. In this study, nESI was studied by applying pulsed high voltages (Pulsed-nESI) with duration between 200 ns and 1 ms. The pulse and offset voltages were applied to an acupuncture needle inserted to an electrospray emitter (tip i.d 4.0 µm) by using a fast high voltage transistor switch coupled with two power supplies. Different mass spectra were obtained between nESI and Pulsed-nESI methods. We will discuss the characteristics of mass spectra obtained with the Pulsed-nESI method.
