  • Mass Spectrometry Society of Japan (MSSJ) and MassBank
MassBank is the database that collects mass spectral data in the MassBank Record format(Ref 1). It is the official database of the Mass Spectrometry Society of Japan (MSSJ) after March 2008. MSSJ MassBank and NORMAN MassBank have shared the spectral data since 2013.

  • MassBank gives you an opportunity to publish a full set of mass spectral data
There are two reasons why you are encouraged to submit your mass spectral data to MassBank.
(1)
You could observe many product ions by analyzing an organic substance with MS/MS. From these observed ions, you select and report several ions in your research paper. Unreported ions may support other studies of the substance since all the observed ions contain some physicochemical information about the substance. Therefore, it is expected to publish the m/z and intensity of a full set of mass spectral data.
(2)
MassBank welcomes your mass spectral data, even if your substance and experimental method are the same as one or more spectral data in MassBank. Data redundancy is essential for assessing the reliability of mass spectral data(Ref. 2). In this sense, MassBank provides its users with reliable MS/MS data. MassBank Database Committee in MSSJ helps you submit your mass spectral data to MassBank. Please contact us by msdb@mssj.jp.
