To The Study Group of Mass Spectrometry Technical Specialists (SGMSTS) was performed a questionnaire survey about troublesome and worrisome peaks during normal measurement that appears frequently but those are not come from the sample compounds, the by-products and derived ones. Because background peaks do not affect only on analytical measurements and results but also on giving useful hints to get clear spectra. Based on the results of the questionnaire, I would like to show some examples which appear commonly during our work by SGMSTS. I hope that this kind of topic provision will help create a mass spectrum database that should be aware of, unlike a general database, so that you do not have to worry about similar cases.
