ペプチド創薬へのイメージング質量分析の活用

A variety of molecular modalities have been utilized in drug discovery and development. Imaging mass spectrometry (IMS) is a technique that can visualize the distribution of various molecules without labels by ionizing various molecules on tissue sections using a mass spectrometer, and its application in drug discovery and development has been increasing in recent years. However, there are few examples of application to tissue distribution analysis of middle molecular drugs such as peptides and nucleic acids using IMS. We previously reported the quantitative analysis approach for tissue distribution of drugs by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI)-IMS, but the quantitative IMS analysis of tissue distribution for cyclic peptides is still limited to our reported cases.
