不凍糖タンパク質のMALDI-TOF MSによる構造解析
Antifreeze glycoprotein (AFGP) was discovered in Antarctic fish as a substance that lowers the freezing point of blood. Throughout our study on the synthesis of natural-type(linear) and cyclic AFGPs, we showed that cyclic AFGPs also possess antifreeze activity. In contrast to linear AFGPs, Cyclic AFGPs with shorter peptide chains showed higher antifreeze activity, despite having the same tripeptide unit with disaccharide.
In this study, we report the results of Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization–time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) and TOF/TOF mass spectrometry (MS) analyses of linear and cyclic antifreeze glycoproteins in order to promote structure-activity relationship studies of AFGPs.
